I’ve never read a Novella that wasn’t attached to a character I was already familiar with; I worried there wouldn’t be enough time to become deeply devoted. I am elated by the amount of feels that can be compacted into 100 pages. Protecting Sarina is an intense two hour twist-and-turn reading experience! Novellas may be my thang.

Sarina Ross is a research scientist on the cusp of creating a vaccine that will save lives. Unfortunately for her, that brilliance may cost her life. A dangerous group is now after Sarina, and Ford Allen has been assigned to protect her. Stowed away in the middle of the woods, broody ex-SEAL Ford begins developing feelings for the introverted Sarina. But acting on their feelings could put Sarina into danger; it’s a catch 22 if there ever was one.

The tension between Ford and Sarina is OFF THE CHAIN, both characters bringing a ton of personality and funny one-liners to their sizzling chemistry. The added danger of her being hunted by terrorist **insert “fanning myself” emoji that hasn’t been created yet** is nerve racking! A whole lot of plot and character bonding is packed in to this novella, without it feeling forced within the short time frame. I will say, the climax is lacking. With the amount of suspenseful intensity strewn throughout, I expected that same boom-chow in the big finale, but it was over rather quickly.

All in all, I’m extremely impressed! Once again, Brenda has created a unique and creative plot line, hot as hell romance, and characters to die for! What else would you expect from The Queen of Romance?

On a side note: Thank you, Brenda, for giving updates on the cat. I was seriously stressed out by it lol.
