My Review in a Nutshell:

I have realized that my reviews for Jennifer have become quite redundant, you may have noticed this as well. In my defense, ALL, and I mean ALL of her books are fast paced, filled with amazing characters, kick-butt heroines, witty dialogue and smoking hot romance. Sounding like a broken record never felt so good.

What’s It All About?

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan is a part of a secret organization that hunts down and kills the murderous Fae that are swarming New Orleans. Four years ago, Ivy lost her family and boyfriend to the Fae, fueling her hate for the creatures, and leaving her unable to form relationships with others, out of fear of having her heart broken again. But when 6 foot of sexiness, Ren, is paired up with her to hunt, she finds herself letting her guard down. Ivy isn’t the only one with walls up, Ren is hiding something, too. Something larger than she ever could have imagined. (That sounded totally dirty lol!)

My Thoughts?

I have a mental checklist of my ideal book: 1) Paranormal 2) Female lead who is not only intelligent, but can defend herself physically 3) Funny, Of course… But that’s not all, the least fulfilled of my literary needs is *drum roll*- 4) SEX, yep, just sex. There are oodles of YA paranormal romance, so why not NA!? Thank you, Jennifer, for fulfilling my four point checklist.  SO, if your checklist is similar to mine, then look no further, Wicked is the book for you. My only complaint, and it is a big one, is that I am having to WAIT for the second book. OH THE HUMANITY!

I was immediately pulled in by the NOLA setting, everything amazing happens there (except the daiquiris, NEVER. AGAIN.). The atmosphere of The Garden District and Bourbon St is alluring to me, especially when paranormal is involved. The book starts out on Bourbon St. with a BANG and continuously develops from there. Wicked is basically the definition of “The plot thickens” with twists and turns. Throw in a hilarious tiny fairy named Tink, a boat load of mysterious characters, action, and wah-lah- pure gold.

This series could be the next Buffy, it NEEDS to be the next Buffy. Fae are in, ladies and gentlemen, vampires are out. There’s not much left to say, other than everyone should read this book.

My Favorite Quotes:

“You gave Tink a scarf. Tink is free!” He flew out into the hallway like a little cracked-out fairy, screeching, “Tink is freeeeee!”

“I’m a lot of things, but today I’m your fucking saving grace.”

“When in doubt, get the fuck out.”
