ONCE UPON A TIME, FOR ME, FEELS LIKE A HAPPY PIECE OF MY CHILDHOOD has BEen MAGICALLY PLACED INTO MY ADULT WORLD. SO, OF COURSE I NEEDED AN ENTIRE ROOM DEDICATED TO IT and bring a little magic into my home! AND WHO BETTER TO EMULATE THAN THE EVIL QUEEN AND HER FABULOUS OFFICE. HERE IS MY PROGRESS THUS FAR! still tons of work to be done, ain’t there, husband?
1. The Wallpaper
Unfortunately, the company who manufactured the Birch wall paper for the TV show no longer carries it. BUT, Google your heart out and you will find oodles of replicas! And don’t be afraid of wallpaper, it is worth it! It makes me feel like I am in the enchanted forest!
But the REAL purpose of this picture is to show off my OUAT sweater from Hot Topic! Adorn with swans, hooks, apples and books! Hey, I rhymed!
2. The sunburst mirror
I wish there was a better quality picture of Regina’s sunburst mirror, but this is as good as it gets! You’ll notice the color scheme of her office is fairly simple; black, white, gray and a hint of red. But what makes the room pop is the mirrored furniture and wall decor. I got this gem at Z Gallery. Funny story: My husband dropped the first one we bought. Let me expand on that, my husband dropped and shattered a 400 dollar mirror. Oddly, he’s still alive.
3. Inkblot Art
What else would the Evil Queen hang on her walls other than the Rorschach Test which is used by psychiatrists to learn a subjects’ perceptions. Regina is a tricky, tricky lady. These were easy to make, I bought matted picture frames from At Home and printed out inkblots my self. Easy as apple pie ;).
4. the power chair… and my weenies.
You just don’t mess with a lady whose power chair has studs.. Nope. I bought my power chair at At Home! I believe it was 150, and there are a TON of coupons you can use! So stack them up!
5. The Couch
The guy on the couch is actually the designer of Regina’s office!! I loved how he mixed traditional Victorian couches with modern pillows and accents. I bought my couch at Ashley Furniture. Oh, and say hello to my Weenies again! Bello! *in Minion voice*.
6. the apples
Oh, the apples. You can’t think Evil Queen and not immediately think of apples! Just like Regina’s mine are not safe to eat, either. They’re fake. If I had a nickle for every time someone picked one up…. Any who, I bought my evil apple holder at Hobby Lobby, it was originally gold, all I did was spray paint it!
7. White accents
White accents are the easiest finds! I was lucky enough to come across an apple at At Home (I’m realizing I shop there a lot). At Home is also where I purchased my wooden simple end tables, almost exactly like Regina’s!
well there you have it, ladies and gents! my once upon a time room. there’s still tons more to do, but i was too eager to wait and share! Now if i could just convince my husband the importance of black walls :D.
Also, did you know once upon a time has a book series of untold tales!? THEY’RE DEFINITELY ON MY TBR LIST! click the book covers below to take you to b&n’s site for more info!
